Popcorn
Popcorn is a film tracking app styled as a retro drive-in movie experience. It's got a film diary, watchlist, smart recommendations, year-end stats, and social reviews, all wrapped in a nostalgic drive-in aesthetic with vintage ticket stubs and marquee-style headers.
The Problem
I love films and I wanted somewhere to track what I’ve watched that actually felt fun to use. Not just another generic list app, but something with personality that I’d enjoy coming back to.
The Approach
I went with a retro drive-in cinema theme to make the whole experience feel nostalgic and playful. The UI uses vintage ticket stub graphics, marquee-style headers and a warm colour palette. It’s built with Vite and TanStack Router, with light/dark theme support and plans for smart recommendations and year-end viewing stats.
